How IDAPP Works - Without Tax Dollars
IDAPP sells Student Loan Revenue Bonds to raise funds for education loans. IDAPP partners with lenders and schools to make education loans available to students to help pay for college education. IDAPP also uses bond proceeds to purchase loan portfolios from lenders in order to free up local lenders’ capital, making more student loan funds available to a new group of students.

Preventing Loan Defaults
The IDAPP pledge to prevent students from defaulting on their educational loan is reflected in our work. Financial aid staff appreciates the options IDAPP offers their students, especially borrower benefits and interest rate reductions, awarded to students who make timely, consecutive payments. Our online repayment calculator estimates future payments based on the amount of loan borrowed, encouraging students to borrow conservatively and prepare for future payment obligations. IDAPP works closely with financial aid offices to promote default prevention materials and develop workshops to counsel students on the sources and uses of credit, financial literacy and the consequences of loan default.
